Diagnostic Pedal Trispect The Diagnostic Pedal Trispect is a device suitable for MRI which can especially be used for activating the calf muscles (musculus triceps surae) in the MRI tube. It creates an exactly constant workload on the calf muscles for a specific period of time during a MRI-measurement; the workload intensity is continuously variable. This enables the examination of the muscles using various MRI-techniques while keeping a standardized workload. The 31 Phosphate Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (31P MRS) is hereby of highest significance due to its clinical use for differential diagnosis of the peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD). The
Diagnostic Pedal Trispect has been developed especially for the examination
of a test person or patient in a MRI device. All components used have been
tested concerning their magnetic resonance suitability. Hence, the
mechanical processing of the materials has only been carried out with tools
which do not leave any metallic abrasion on the single components. The high standard concerning the used techniques, materials and the production guarantees the proper functioning use of the Diagnostic Pedal Trispect in a MRI tomograph without any artifacts. All sensors and cables for the measurement of the parameters of the device have also been designed in such a way that they do not cause any measurement artifacts. The
easy and secure handling of the Diagnostic Pedal Trispect allows its use not
only under so called “laboratory conditions”, but also in the clinical
routine sphere. The starting of and working with the device can be handled
by trained specialized staff. The computerized cybernetics make it much
easier to work with the Diagnostic Pedal Trispect. Once the MRI scan has
been started the computer program automatically takes over the control
during operation. The force range can naturally be varied by the specialized
staff and is afterwards automatically controlled in the particular range. |
